Established in March 1992 by the current managing director, Alex Thomson, Kitwe Hydraulic and Pneumatic Engineering was started as a service organization with the emphasis on high quality repairs and related servicing of all types of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

The excellence of the work and outstanding managment, combined with our customer's commitment to us saw the company expand into the largest provider of spares and tailor-made design of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in Swaziland.

Due to market demand for custom designed manifold and valve blocks, specialized actuators, and mini power packs, we saw the need to start a high production capacity manufacturing facility with CNC milling and lathe machines. Thus, our subsidiary company, Hydraulic Engineering Works (HEW) was formed.

Through our steady expansion, our customer base has grown to include the timber and sugar industries as well as construction firms and mines across Africa.

As all of our services are in-house, we offer a complete rebuild of machines as well as full servicing and rebuilding of heavy construction plant expediting our turn around time on work (due to no sub-contracting) while ensuring the quality that our customers have come to expect from us.

We have great relationships with transporters with low beds and transport options for heavy plant & machinery if required.

The operations of both sales and service are based in our Matsapha premises , Plot 543 King Mswati III avenue West Matsapha.
